Yesterday, Mike and I participated in San Antonio's 2nd Annual Colon Cancer Run, Get Your Rear in Gear. Considering I'm pregnant, we decided to do the 5K instead of the 10K (and let's face it, we probably would have done that even if I wasn't pregnant!).
This is one of the big yearly events for my job, so I've been planning it and working toward getting our team and booth all set up for the last few months. And finally it's over! I don't think that, unless you're an event planner, you realize the relief of being done with something that has consumed your life for weeks. It's bliss.
The race was really fun though. This is my handsome hubby and me about to get going:
And another pic of some people on my team at the starting line (which was also the finish line). And how do you like the shirts I designed? Classy, eh? The slogan was one of our doctor's ideas, silly man. Oh well, it got a lot of comments, which is what marketing is all about, right? :)
Besides doing the Get Your Rear in Gear, we also had a really fun weekend working on our yard. We bought this awesome little Japanese maple tree. I've read that they're pretty hard to keep alive in the San Antonio heat, but with lots of water and profuse compliments, we hope he'll thrive.
Speaking of my belly button, here's a bit of classic Mike humor:
Mike's coworker: "I'm thinking of getting an Audi."
Mike: "Yeah, my wife's getting an outie, but that's just because she's pregnant."
Ah, my husband. I laughed at that one for quite a while. Anyway, it was a good weekend here at the Foulk household.
Oh no! I hadn't even thought about the baby kicking my scars! I was just so grateful not to have a gall bladder this pregnancy. Yikes I have four scars from that and a c-section scar. Well now I'm a little less excited for the last trimester. Thanks Alli! Just kidding. I find out tomorrow what we're having... It'd be fun for us to both have boys! I'll let you know.
