The disadvantage to this past weekend is that my house is still the
mess that it was Friday morning. The reason my house didn't get its
usual Saturday morning cleaning? Well, I was a little too busy doing
this...
 |
| Enjoying beautiful views across the Texas Hill Country |
and this...
 |
| Eating really yummy food to celebrate my upcoming 27th birthday |
and this...
 |
| Swimming in a pool with an awesome view. Yes, it was cold. Yes, it started pouring rain. Still cool. |
|
And this...
 |
| Re-enacting
a scene from a classic book, Tess of the D'ubervilles. Yes, I'm a
literary nerd. And, yes, that's a little place we stumbled upon called
Stonehenge II. |
|
|
And, lastly, this...
 |
| Driving down this exceptionally pretty road with a cool wind blowing across my face. |
to worry at all about dishes, laundry and yard work.
Last week, Mike asked me what I wanted to do for my birthday. '
Get outta here,' I thought. So, I found a great deal on a hotel on Priceline and we decided to hit the road for a weekend free of work and worry. I may have needed a mini vacation something fierce. It may have something to do with going back to work and somehow suddenly being the only person in the Marketing Department. It may have something to do with an impromptu job interview and rumors about my unanticipated promotion.
Whatever the reason may have been,
this was exactly what I needed.
I was thinking about you the other day as I was looking at the calendar and realized that your birthday was coming up. I'm glad you had a fun little celebration for it... Happy Birthday!
