A Brrrrilliant Christmas!

This year, we got to spend Christmas with my parents in Boise, Idaho. It was so fun, relaxing, and... cold! In other words, everything Christmas should be (can you tell I've been weirded out by one to many holiday celebrations that Mike wore shorts to?). Besides the weather, it was just marvelous to hang out with my wonderful parents, see lots of old friends, catch up with extended family, have my mom spoil me, and show off both my handsome boys.

Am I lucky, or what?
Family time was truly awesome, including a laid-back but fun Christmas morning. It was a little weird having church first thing Christmas morning, but my mom and dad both gave talks in church that were really interesting and neat to hear. Here's some of the fun once we got home:

What an awesome gift! Ha ha.

Of course you can have Thanksgiving dinner on Christmas day!
And this one wins the most hilarious photo of the trip award. There's actually a great explanation for why my husband and my dad are laying beside each other on my parents' bed playing on their cell phones, but I think, as blog author, I reserve the right to withhold the explanation and just let the hilarious photo speak for itself:

Nice.
It was also really great to catch up with old friends and even-older family.

Us with my high school buddy, Lance, his wife and their wee little 6-week old.
Fun at the Beanery downtown Boise with just a few of the many ladies in my family.

Eating pizza with Andrea & her hubby at Old Chicago.
And I can't help myself. I just have to post a few more photos of Little Man. He was just too stinkin' cute all bundled up for the cold weather. One of the first mornings we were there, it got down to 12 degrees, which totally necessitated the bear suit below. Adorableness ensued.

We don't love that we have to fly to see family for the holidays, but at least being far away makes us treasure the time we have together. And if Eli's okay being a frequent flier, so are we!

Thanks for a wonderful time, Gram & Papa!

  1. I'm glad you had such a nice time with your family! Now we just need to figure out a way to shorten the distance between Boise and Provo...or Provo and San Antonio for that matter. :)
P.S. I love Eli's Christmas sweater. So stinking adorable. And the bear suit? Pure cuteness.
